Description

Fine; As New. See images and description. East Liverpool, OH: W.C. Bunting Co. for Georgetown University, undated but circa 1997. Gleaming and with of course no damage whatsoever; a touch of soil at stein-bottom bearing ring is, in fact, itself as-purchased new back in the day. Black with gilt glazes, bearing the Seal of Georgetown University, and its date of establishment, 1789, though not the motto (“Utraque Unum”), and just the first two words – Collegium Georgiopolitanum – of the Seal’s Latin inscription, “Collegium Georgiopolitanum Ad Ripas Potomaci in Marylandia”, which means “Georgetown College on the Banks of the Potomac in Maryland. Hey, it’s only got so much room – it’s a true miniature stein, just 2 /38” tall, and weighing 3.5 ounces. This is for the display shelf, not for drinkin’ suds. Apparently an extraordinarily scarce piece of sports fan memorabilia, now. See all images. Ships in stout protection, of course. LOKsh
