Description

Fine, in Near Fine case. See scans and description. Cheyenne, Wyoming: Fleetwood Medalist Cover Society, 1974. Fleetwood Medalist British Closing of Boston Harbor Bicentennial, 6-1-1974. Gold on Silver 1-ounce ingot, Serial Numbered, in Presentation Envelope with Boston Tea Party Stamp Block and U.S. Postal Stamping in Boston on that Bicentennial. Certificate of Authenticity affixed to the reverse. # 823 of 4,000 issued. Issuers, original invoice with envelope, and a promotional flyer, are also included, quite pristine. Interesting in that this ingot is Gold-on-Silver (presumably electroplated), and so-stated, while the majority of those seen on the market – when they are seen at all – are just silver, without the gold, and stated as silver (only). See scan of C.O.A. on reverse. Fine, with trace dust on envelope, in a near fine faux-leather and plastic case in which the clear interior plastic appears a bit wrinkled over the years. Very charming – and collectible – blue-to-pink patina on obverse, with perimeter blue and russet patina on the obverse. See scans. Envelope is 7 1/2″ x 3 7/8″; base is 7 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. See all scans.
