Original mottled calf with gilt filigree on covers, gilt and red spine titling and designs, gilt edge dentelles. Light to moderate wear to spine, surface, and edges; some endpaper discoloration, rear joint starting. Nice, handsome little VG copy of a rare edition. Hard to find early version of Thomas Gray’s poetry, including his famouse Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, as well as Ode on the Death of a Favourite Cat (Drowned in a Tub of Gold Fishes); Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College; Hymn to Adversity; The Progress of Poesy; The Bard; The Fatal Sisters; The Descent of Odin; The Triumphs of Owen; and Ode to Music.
